ThermaFreeze Products Corporation (OTCMKTS: TZPC) operating out of Vernon, New Jersey offers high quality ice packs by way of a patented, solution-based technology for cold chain product management, thermal packaging and therapeutic health care issues requiring either cold or hot topical application. ThermaFreeze pads are based on a proprietary cooling technology, consisting of non-toxic, biodegradable crystallized polymer capable of absorbing moisture and releasing it in a slow and gradual pace through a process called sublimation. This cooling effect lasts for several hours, without the uncomfortable wetness generally created by ice and ice substitutes. ThermaFreeze ice pads are fully flexible, pliant and moldable despite being fully frozen, and can fit into the curves and contours of the area being cooled for maximum thermal stability. For ice therapy, ThermaFreeze pads mold fully into the body’s delicate shape, whether it be used on an elbow, shoulder or ankle that needs ice application. The cooling power of ThermaFreeze ice pads is also particularly useful in commercial applications and in the transport of food and perishables. Furthermore, ThermaFreeze ice packs are energy-efficient, reusable many times, highly effective, and can stay cold far longer than ice or any ice substitutes currently available on the market.
ThermaFreeze is flexible when frozen and its flat, flexible properties distribute cold evenly. It stays frozen 25% longer than an equal mass of gel pack under the same conditions. ThermaFreeze pads allow a perishable product to be partially or completely encased, resulting in significant reductions in spoilage rates. When thawing begins, a pad continues to provide a cooling affect. Due to the non-woven fabric side and because of the same technology that allows for a pad to be hydrated, the water that is suspended in gel state will begin to evaporate out of the cell. The water will not appear in a liquid state, creating a watery mess, but rather sublime or evaporate into the atmosphere as water vapor. Through this process of sublimation, ThermaFreeze continues to provide cooling, until the pad is fully dehydrated, typically over a period of 7 – 10 days. This increased effectiveness in the distribution of cooling throughout the shipping package, provides a longer shipping window. Twenty-four hour shipments can be increased to 36 – 48 hours or more, resulting in significantly reduced outbound transit costs.
